God provides

Just a quick encouragement for everyone, and for myself. I'm not sure about you, but I found after I got back from Greece that I got a bit selfish....ok alot selfish. I began coveting alot and thinking "I gave alot of money to God, now it's time to spend some on ME!" First I started browsing through the Ikea catalogue looking at expensive pieces of furniture, beds. Then it was mini-vans, home renovations and nice toys for the kids.

This might not seem like much to some Christians, but "living on faith" can sometimes breed a sense of desperation for finances that, if not handed over to God, can manifest itself in selfish desires.

So we decided to "indulge" and buy a new computer desk. As we were getting ready to walk out the door, our neighbour walked up to say hi and ask about our trip. We chatted for a bit, then she said "we are throwing out an old computer desk and a couch if you want to look at it". Hayley and I looked at each other, amazed at "the goodness of God which leads us to repentance". We took the old desk and repented of our coveteousness.

It's just great to know that God is there and can be trusted when we wait on him for provision for our "daily bread".
